In response to the blind spots in the understanding of hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel by construction customers, Shandong Shengqiang launched the "Steel Selection Manual for Building Structures". The core conclusions are:
1. Strength: The yield strength of cold-rolled SPCC (280MPa) is higher than that of hot-rolled Q235B (235MPa), but the ductility is 15% lower;
2. Cost: The hot-rolled ton price is 8%-12% lower, suitable for non-exposed structures;
3. Precision: The cold-rolled thickness tolerance is ±0.05mm, which is better than the hot-rolled ±0.15mm.
The manual has guided a commercial complex project in Southeast Asia to save US$3 million in material costs and won the "Best Technical Partner" award from the owner.
